Dr. Fred Sharpe is available
to lead bird watching tours on the Olympic Peninsula, lower Puget Sound,
and Washington's ocean coast. Dr. Sharpe is a world-renowned humpback
whale researcher, founder of the Alaska Whale Foundation, and author of
dozens of scientific articles on whales and birds. He has appeared on
numerous National Geographic television programs.
Fred is also the
author/illustrator of numerous guide books on plants, birds, and natural
history of the Pacific Northwest. He was raised in Puget Sound country
and resides on the Olympic Peninsula where he is currently putting in
his final field work for a comprehensive book on the birds of that
region. Although Fred is a highly focused biologist, he is
simultaneously a highly entertaining instructor and infamous raconteur!
